During the National Memorial Day Parade, AVC recognizes the contributions of our nation’s fallen heros – the true meaning of Memorial Day. In 2014 AVC honored Foreign Service Officer Anne Smedinghoff, a State Department Officer killed in Afghanistan while on a mission delivering textbooks to students.
