Princess Anne Meets American Heroes

HRH The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, chats with Col. Richard Cole (USAF-Ret,) at a British Embassy reception in Washington, D.C held on November 6, 2014, marking the centenary of World War 1. Col. Cole was the co-pilot for Gen. Jimmy Doolittle on the legendary Doolittle Raiders’ bombing of Japan in early 1942. From left to right are: James Roberts, president of the American Veterans Center, Col. James Magellas, (USA-Ret.) the most highly decorated veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division and, with Back to camera, Mr. James Martin, a veteran of the 101st Airborne Division whose men parachuted into Normandy on June 6, 1944. In June of 2014 Mr. Martin made headlines when he again parachuted into Normandy at age 94.
