Colonel Ed Shames, veteran of the famed “Band of Brothers” of World War II, was recognized for his outstanding service by the AVC last Wednesday at a dinner at the Army and Navy Club in washington, D.C.  As part of the evening, Col. Shames was presented with a special commemorative portrait of General George Patton, painted by Iraq and Afghanistan veteran Sam Ryskind.
